Tricky Tipster, NHRA 4-Wide Nationals

We’re now four races into the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season, which means it’s time to go four-wide racing for back-to-back events in Las Vegas and Charlotte. Four-abreast racing is a unique animal, especially when it comes to handicapping because the format allows both the first- and second-place finisher from each quad to advance.
At the most recent event in Pomona, Clay Millican, Jack Beckman, and Greg Anderson claimed wins in Top Fuel, Funny Car, and Pro Stock, respectively. Anderson has appeared in the first three finals of the season, and each time he has raced against teammate Dallas Glenn.
PlayNHRA, NHRA’s partnership with leading sports books and fantasy sports providers, has allowed fans to sign up for free and legally wager on national events and other outcomes in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, including this weekend’s event at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
NHRA fans have the opportunity to engage in fantasy games, gaming, and betting for this event. Betting markets feature the Professional classes, Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, and Pro Stock Motorcycle, where fans can wager on event winners, low elapsed time of the event, head-to-head matchups, and season champions.
The experts at Alt Sports Data have set the opening lines for this week’s NHRA 4-Wide Nationals, and they have chosen Antron Brown, Austin Prock, and Greg Anderson as the early favorites.
Below are the opening odds as provided by Alt Sports Data.
(Note: In American sports betting, odds are typically expressed with a plus (+) or minus (–) symbol followed by a number. For example, +200 signifies the amount a bettor could win if wagering $100. If the bet works out, the player would receive a total payout of $300; $200 profit + $100 initial stake.)
TOP FUEL
Gainesville winner Antron Brown suffered a tough round-one loss in Pomona at the hands of Tony Stewart, and he has dropped to third in the Mission Foods standings, yet the reigning world champ remains the favorite for this week’s Las Vegas event. Brown has six wins in Las Vegas during his career, and he’s also won a pair of four-wide events in Charlotte. Brown opens at +600, which means a $10 wager would return $70.00.
Points leader and Phoenix winner Shawn Langdon is second at +650, while Doug Kalitta and Brittany Force are also among the favorites at +750. Others who are ranked among the favorites include Justin Ashley at +800, Pomona winner Clay Millican at +850, and runner-up Tony Stewart at +900. Steve Torrence, Shawn Reed, and vastly improved Jasmine Salinas are also tightly bunched at +900.
Among the more notable long shots is Josh Hart, who scored a huge win against Justin Ashley in Pomona and is currently ranked No. 8 in the standings. Hart and his R+L Carriers team can be had for an attractive price of +1,200.

FUNNY CAR
Reigning 91°µÍø Funny Car champion Austin Prock is still seeking his first win of the 2025 season, yet he remains a favorite with the betting public at +330 for this week’s event. Prock won the most recent Las Vegas event last November, and he previously won a four-wide event at the 2023 Charlotte event when he was racing in Top Fuel. Prock qualified second in Phoenix and was the low qualifier at the recent Pomona event, a solid indicator that his Cornwell Tools Camaro remains among the elite cars in the Funny Car class.
Prock’s John Force Racing teammate, Jack Beckman, is fresh off a win in Pomona, and odds-wise, he’s a close second at +450, which actually represents value for the incoming points leader.
Bob Tasca III, who generally fares well in four-wide races, opens at +900, while Buddy Hull has surprisingly short odds of +1,000 after his DNQ in Pomona. Â
Matt Hagan, Ron Capps, Gainesville champ Chad Green, J.R. Todd, and Phoenix winner Paul Lee are tightly bunched between +1,100 and +1,400.
When it comes to longshot bets, there are several to choose from, including Spencer Hyde, who recently made the semifinals in his third race with Jim Head Racing and Alexis DeJoria, who opened the season with a semi in Gainesville. Hyde’s opening odds are +2,500, while DeJoria, a past two-time Las Vegas winner, is a robust +3,500. That means a $10 wager on DeJoria would return $360.00 should she repeat her 2014 and 2016 performances in Las Vegas.

PRO STOCK
After reaching the final of the first three events and winning two of them, it’s no surprise that Greg Anderson is the favorite in Pro Stock with an opening price of +400. It also helps that Anderson has enjoyed tremendous success in Las Vegas with eight of his 108 career wins coming there. Anderson has also bagged three four-wide trophies during his career, although they’ve each come in Charlotte.
Not surprisingly, Anderson is just fractionally better than teammate Dallas Glenn when it comes to the oddsmakers. Glenn, also a three-time finalist this season, opens at +450, making him a co-favorite to win the event. Glenn has also done his share of damage in Las Vegas with three wins, including one in Super Gas.
Erica Enders has struggled out of the gate this season, but historically, the six-time world champion does well in Las Vegas. That helps explain why she’s ranked third with an opening price of +700. The other favorite is Aaron Stanfield at +800, while there are a host of drivers between +1,100 and +1,800, including Cory Reed, Matt Hartford, Jeg Coughlin Jr., Troy Coughlin Jr., Greg Stanfield, Deric Kramer, and Cristian Cuadra, a past finalist at the Las Vegas four-wide event.
With 22 Pro Stock cars on the pre-entry list, one doesn’t have to look far to find value in longshot bets, including Mason McGaha at +2,500, Fernando Cuadra Jr. at +3,000, and the father-son duo of Eric and Matt Latino at +3,500 and +6,500, respectively. If Pro Stock happens to feature a first-time winner, anyone who wagered on that individual will be rewarded handsomely.
