Below are the opening odds as provided by Alt Sports Data.

(Note: In American sports betting, odds are typically expressed with a plus (+) or minus (–) symbol followed by a number. For example, +200 signifies the amount a bettor could win if wagering $100. If the bet works out, the player would receive a total payout of $300 ($200 profit + $100 initial stake.)

TOP FUEL

Reigning world champ Doug Kalitta has been favored at most events in 2024 and with good reason, as he’s delivered with three wins and two runner-up finishes in 11 races. Kalitta has also led the Top Fuel standings for the last four events as he looks to secure the top seed heading into the Countdown to the Championship.

Kalitta’s price has been set at +639, meaning a $10 wager would return a profit of $63.90. Kalitta is a co-favorite along with Seattle winner Steve Torrence, Justin Ashley, Shawn Langdon, and Antron Brown, each of whom has wins this season. It’s worth noting that there have already been six different winners this season in Top Fuel.

When it comes to longshots, Tony Stewart, Josh Hart, Tony Schumacher, and Jasmine Salinas offer value. Schumacher has two wins already this season, while Stewart, Hart, and Salinas are trending upward.

FUNNY CAR

With victories in three of the last four events, Austin Prock continues to lead the way in Funny Car, and that is reflected in his odds for this week’s Sonoma race. Prock and his Cornwell Tools team carry an opening price of +418 this weekend, meaning a $10 wager would return a profit of $41.80.

After Prock, the other favorites include championship contenders Matt Hagan, Bob Tasca III, Ron Capps, and J.R. Todd. Further down the order, Seattle runner-up Paul Lee is listed at +1,615, which means the same $10 wager would return a healthy profit of $161.50 should he get his first nitro win. Blake Alexander also represents a value pick with opening odds of +1,816 in Jim Head’s Mustang.

PRO STOCK

Greg Anderson is once again the favorite in Pro Stock, but he rates a very slim edge over Dallas Glenn and Erica Enders, who are labeled as co-favorites. The Pro Stock class continues to lead the way when it comes to parity, although last week, Jeg Coughlin Jr. won his third Pro Stock event of the season. Anderson opens at +438, while Coughlin retains a fair amount of value at +822 as he looks to go back to back in his Scag Power Equipment Camaro.

When it comes to longshots, there is an attractive price on both Chris McGaha (+2,147) and his son, Mason, (+2,281), who have made impressive strides recently with their Harlow Sammons entries.

PRO STOCK MOTORCYCLE

Although he suffered his first loss of the season in the final round of last week’s NHRA Northwest Nationals in Seattle, Gaige Herrera remains an overwhelming favorite to win the Sonoma Pro Stock Motorcycle title. Herrera’s historic winning streak ended at 46 rounds when he lost to Chase Van Sant in the final.

Despite the loss, Herrera opens at -385, which means a bettor would have to wager $38.50 to win a $10 profit. There are other value picks in the field, including Matt Smith (+741), Van Sant (+1838), Richard Gadson (+1,966), and John Hall (+2,394). Jianna Evaristo, who set low elapsed time and top speed in Seattle, also represents value with an attractive price of +2,413 should she win her second career Wally.
