91 Pro Mod drivers eager for Epping debut
It’s another first-time opportunity for drivers in the FuelTech 91 Pro Mod Drag Racing Series presented by Type A Motorsports, as the category powers into New England Dragway as part of this weekend’s NHRA New England Nationals.
The fan-favorite facility has drawn massive crowds since the NHRA debuted at the track in 2013, and now 91 Pro Mod will be part of the show for the first time.
It’s the fourth of 10 races during the 2023 season for the FuelTech 91 Pro Mod Drag Racing Series presented by Type A Motorsports, and this weekend’s event is powered by PGT Trucking for the second straight race. The class will be featured during Sunday’s broadcast on FOX Sports 1 (FS1) with plenty of excitement surrounding the event sponsor and first-time opportunity in Epping.
“It’s always cool when a new sponsor comes on board, and when PGT Trucking made the commitment to sponsor two races in Chicago and Epping, the class really came together to make sure their experience is the best we can deliver,” Mike Thielen said.
Added Manny Buginga: “PGT Trucking is right in our target market, and their need to recruit CDL drivers is something we can absolutely help with. We are grateful to them for trusting us to help them in their campaign.”
On the track, another full field is expected this weekend in Epping, including points leader Justin Bond, who won the first two races of the season, as well as Chicago winner Jose Gonzalez, defending world champion Kris Thorne, J.R. Gray, Doug Winters, Kevin Rivenbark, Jason Lee, and Khalid AlBalooshi.
PGT Trucking is also thrilled to be involved with the class for the second straight race and another debut event for 91 Pro Mod. The category put on a thrilling show in Chicago in the midst of busy stretch in the schedule that includes appearances at five straight NHRA national events. With a new points format, performing well this weekend will be critical with racing to continue at two more races this month in Bristol and Norwalk.
“PGT Trucking is proud to return as a sponsor for the Pro Mod Series at the NHRA New England Nationals in Epping, N.H.,” said Rick Simpson, PGT Trucking Vice President, Asset Management. “PGT continues to provide quality flatbed transportation services after more than 42 years of successful operation, growing our fleet of Proud Professional Drivers through our commitment to safety, focus on family, and dedication to customer service. We are excited to share this racing experience with our drivers, customers, and fellow race fans.”
