Rachel, Johnston, Figini, Werre, and Kielman earn trips to National Championships

The first NHRA Summit Racing Series Finals of 2019 took place over Labor Day weekend as Division 6’s best E.T. racers flocked to Pacific Raceways to determine their division champions and representatives for the National Championships in Pomona.

The first NHRA Summit Racing Series Finals of 2019 took place over Labor Day weekend as Division 6’s best E.T. racers flocked to Pacific Raceways to determine their division champions and representatives for the National Championships in Pomona. Martin Rachel won the Super Pro Race of Champions over Warren Regnier to earn the first berth to Pomona. He’ll be joined by Pro winner Chris Johnston, who defeated Paul Jordan in the final; Kathy Figini, who bested Randy Hermsen for the Sportsman crown; and Jim Werre, who was the winner in the Bike/Sled competition over Kevin Bromley.

Mark Kielman was the winner in Saturday's Pro racer over Seth McLean and earned the wild card berth as determined in an overall drawing earlier this year.

Darien Provoast won Sunday’s Super Pro title, defeating Jeremy Sears in the final. Sportsman honors went to Derrick Jackson after a final-round defeat of John Diener while Bike/Sled honors were won by Riley Toth over his father, Dave Toth.Jr. Lightning honors went to Jiovanni Collecchi, and Jr. Thunder was won by Shahalee Peters. Mitchell Condon was the winner in Jr. Street

Lonnie Sharkey won the Super Pro Dash for Cash over Sherry Barnett, while other Sunday victories went to Steve Kelly, who defeated Gary Wood in Pro; and Adan Kirwan, who took the measure of James Heriford II in Sportsman. Jr. Lightning honors went to Ian Theofelis while Jr. Thunder went to Kort Holbrook. Mya Dawson was the winner in Jr. Street while Shleby Dawson took High School honors.
