One of the many highlights of the upcoming Amalie Motor Oil Gatornationals is the 2017 debut of the SAM Tech Factory Stock Showdown. The action features factory-built muscle cars from Chevrolet, Dodge, and Ford. Last year, David Barton captured three Factory Stock Showdowns, including the Gatornationals in Gary Wolkowitz’s COPO Camaro. Barton joins Factory Stock fan and NHRA reporter Lewis Bloom in the Wally Parks NHRA Studio via Skype delivered by Papa John’s.

Barton, the son of engine builder Ray Barton, owns the quickest time slip so far in the history of Stock Eliminator, 8.073 seconds from last year’s Dutch Classic. He spoke with Bloom about all facets of Factory Stock and, of course, his competition, including Ford racer Chris Holbrook. Fans can catch all the action from the Gatornationals in Factory Stock as part of the Lucas Oil Sportsman coverage on FS2 and FS1.
