Hartford reflects on his transition from business owner to racer every weekend, his hate of first round on Sunday, and his favorite win of all time.

The Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com was a brutal experience for everyone, but all who competed there or attended will in some way carry their experience as a badge of honor. Here’s five things we learned at the event:

Second-generation Funny Car racer Jason Rupert is competing in Funny Car at this weekend's Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals, but it took a cadre of nitro friends and experts including Steve Plueger, Eric Lane, Johnny West, and Rahn Tobler to get him here.

Greg Anderson is leading the Pro Stock points and the Pro Stock field in Pomona, but there's no resting on those laurels heading into a crucial day of qualifying at the Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals and at the races beyond leading up to the Countdown to the Championship.

One of the most interesting Funny Car battles raging does not include the points leaders but rather Terry Haddock and Blake Alexander, who are battling for the 10th spot in the Countdown to the Championship field separated only by two points.
