FCA-North America, Dodge’s parent company, hosted a media day that provided speedy scribes, including members of the NHRA National Dragster staff, the first chance to drive the 485-hp 392-equipped Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 on the famed Pomona Dragstrip. The car comes with a factory line loc for burnouts, built-in transbrake for launches, and Nexen drag radial tires with a proprietary tread compound. The car will go 0-60 in 3.8 seconds and cover the quarter-mile in 11.7 seconds.

Journalists also got their first look at Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye, which sports a 797-hp 6.2-liter supercharged powerplant with 707 foot-pounds of torque. With specs of 0-60 in 3.4 seconds, a 10.8-second quarter-mile, and 203-mph top speed, it’s the quickest, fastest, and most powerful muscle car sold. Also on hand was the Challenger R/T Scat Pack, which also sports the 485-hp 392 Hemi but wider wheels and tires and a new suspension that makes it an exceptional handler.
